Mid-Life Crisis Management – “Mid-life Wake”
An Irish Wake is a traditional funeral, where the deceased persons’ family, friends and neighbours would gather at the house to pay their respects. But it was more of a party than a funeral. Lots of food and drink would be taken. People would have a good chat, remembering and celebrating the deceased person’s life:
Giving them “a good send off” as it was said.
During the 18th and 19th century in Ireland, emigration was the only way that many people stood a chance of getting a job or indeed just surviving. Many went to the UK. But many went to America, Canada and Australia.
Because the distances were so great, families used to hold a wake for the people leaving, since they’d most likely never see them again.
This workshop is a modern day therapeutic take on such a wake, where the group are led on a guided tour of their lives. Using the Synalysys Method as well as a series of targeted Hypnotherapy sessions, You build up an honest and balanced picture of what you’ve done up to now – good and bad.
With this opportunity to reflect on what was and was not your fault, Forgiveness can follow. You will begin to have a feeling of calm acceptance of yourself, perhaps for the first time in your life.
You can begin to put all of this behind you.
And more importantly you will ask yourself what you want from the second half of your life.
You will be taking the first steps in a process that will lead you to peace, and achievement of these new wishes and dreams.
